Are you (or one of your loved ones) experiencing noticeable and involuntary twitching of the neck or the face around the eyes or the mouth? Are there any other noticeable and involuntary movements in the arms or legs?
According to NAMI.org: “Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a movement disorder that causes a range of repetitive muscle movements in the face, neck, arms, and legs. TD symptoms are beyond a person’s control. These symptoms can make routine physical functioning difficult, significantly affecting quality of life. In severe cases, the muscles associated with breathing can even be impacted.”
We are pleased to announce that NAMI Syracuse is developing a Tardives Dyskinesia educational program funded by NAMI.org.
