Presentations

NAMI Syracuse gets out into the community to raise awareness about mental health

NAMI Syracuse offers short presentations about NAMI and mental illness at schools, health fairs, churches, libraries, or any other organization. Our goal is to decrease stigma, inform people about services and support, and offer hope.

Please contact the NAMI Syracuse office at 315-487-2085 if you would like to request a speaker.

Ending the Silence

NAMI Ending the Silence is a presentation designed for middle and high school students, school staff, and parents or guardians of middle or high school aged youth. Audiences learn about the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, how to recognize the early warning signs and the importance of acknowledging those warning signs.

NAMI In Our Own Voice

NAMI In Our Own Voice is a one session presentation available at 40-, 60-, and 90-minute lengths. The presentation gives a personal perspective what it’s like to live with a mental health condition and shows that it is possible to live well with mental illness. In this way, the In Our Own Voice presentation can help to dispel stereotypes and misconceptions about these conditions.

If you are interested in setting up a presentation, please contact NAMI Syracuse by phone at 315-487-2085, or by email at namisyracuse@namisyracuse.org
