TARDIVE DYSKINESIA

Understanding tardive dyskinesia

Are you (or one of your loved ones) experiencing noticeable and involuntary twitching of the neck or the face around the eyes or the mouth? Are there any other noticeable and involuntary movements in the arms or legs?

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a movement disorder that causes a range of repetitive muscle movements in the face, neck, arms, and legs. TD symptoms are beyond a person’s control. These symptoms can make routine physical functioning difficult, significantly affecting quality of life. In severe cases, the muscles associated with breathing can even be impacted. Read more at the NAMI website TD page.

Information about TD is available at Neurocrine.com/td-awareness/, and resources can be accessed at TalkAboutTD.com and on the links below to find out more.
