Support Groups

MONTHLY SUPPORT GROUPS

NAMI Syracuse hosts monthly support groups for individuals living with mental illness, as well as family members and friends of those living with mental health concerns. You do not have to be a NAMI member to attend (although, we would love for you to join!)

NAMI Family Support Group (Day)

NAMI Family Support Group is a support group for family members, significant others, and friends of people with mental health conditions.

Attendees
: All family members and friends of those living with mental health concerns are welcome to attend.

When: Second Wednesday of each month
10:00 – 11:30 AM (light refreshments will be provided)

Where: NAMI Syracuse Office. 917 Avery Ave Syracuse, NY 13204

NAMI Family Support Group (Evening)

NAMI Family Support Group is a support group for family members, significant others, and friends of people with mental health conditions.

Attendees: All family members and friends of those living with mental health concerns are welcome to attend.

: Third Tuesday of each month
7:00 – 9:00 PM

Where: AccessCNY building
420 East Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY

This Mind of Mine Peer Support Group

This Mind of Mine Peer Support Group is a monthly support group for people living with mental health conditions.

Attendees: Individuals living with mental health conditions are welcome to attend.

When: Third Wednesday of each month
5:30 – 6:00 pizza served
6:00 – 7:00 group discussion

This Mind of Mine Support Group focuses on:

• Community Resources and Events
        o Sharing community resources for Onondaga county and upcoming social events
• Open Sharing/Discussion
        o Discussing proud moments and challenges that arose within one’s mental health journey
• Brainstorming
        o Response to challenges previously mentioned; how to handle real life situations such as handling work life, family, etc
• Put a Bow on It
        o Last words to go by / Closing thought to leave with
